AUTHOR VISIT

Jacqueline Rogers - On March 11th, Jacqueline Rogers came to visit with the students in grades K-3. She is an author and an illustrator. She talked about the writing and illustrating process. During each grade level session, the children drew a creative picture under her direction. The pictures show some of the results. Click here to see the pictures.

Jeff Nathan is the author of Calling All Animals, There's a Hippo in My Locker, and There's a Bear in My Shoe.  His humorous poems have won awards such as the Pinnacle Award.

In addition to his wonderful presentation, students will have an opportunity to have snacks with the author, and to have their books signed by him.

Peg Thomas is an author who lives outside of Rochester in a town called Middleburgh. Peg came to visit with our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  She read her book called, Joshua the Giant Frog  and wrote a continuation of the Joshua story using the students' suggestions.  They took their stories back to the classroom with them.

Daniel Mahoney also visited with the students in grades k-2. Daniel lives in Albany.  He illustrated a story for each of the classes and they took their stories back to class with them.
