Making of Genet Web Page

Fulfilling & Amazing & Exciting, it's the website of Genet's History. Are you wondering how we made it? Are you dying to be let in on the secrets?  Well, we have the answers.  A fifth grade class at Genet designed this whole website.  Ms. Sage-Pulver, Ms. Schwieg, and Mrs. Turner helped out on this project.  The whole class brainstormed ideas on a computer program called Inspiration to pick topics for each student in the class to study. For each topic, six questions were thought of, to be answered by many important people who were part of Genet History throughout the years.  By using the topics and questions we were able to form into groups from what each individual student was interested in. Mr. Bennet who was a former teacher in Genet, was interviewed by the whole class.  Each group learned information about their own topics.  A little after Genet opened Mr. Carkner became the head of the transportation system of East Greenbush Schools.  Mrs. Sage-Pulver' s class read oral histories on other persons' lives.  They did this to get an idea of how to write oral histories.  Each group interviewed the town historian of East Greenbush single-handedly, to get even more information for the web page.  The next person who was interviewed was Mr. Romer.  The whole class interviewed him then groups of students asked him questions on their topics.   Some of the children interviewed Mr. Doran depending on their category.  Colors were picked out for the background of the writing.  On Netscape Communicator the web page was started.  The final draft was copied on.  Two groups, the transportation and building and grounds groups went to Mrs. Romer's house and interviewed her.  The groups are: Buildings & Grounds by Sarah and Abby; Transportation by Lauryn and Sean; Fashions and Health by Rachel and Kristen; School and Free Time, by Sarah and Meagan; People of Genet by Ashley and Peter, The World Around Genet by Kyle, Krista and Mike, Citizen Edmond Genet by Rachel, Hayley, Alex and Efrain, Memorable People and Events by Steven, Hannah and Trent Technology by Harshil and Matt and Transportation by Lauren and Sean.
