Go Back In The Past And Have A Blast With Free Time
In school they had club activities, sports practice, etc. They had weekends off (Saturday and Sunday) so that gave them time to play with friends and go to movies etc. They also helped around the farm or did other chores their parents wanted them to do. Also on the weekends most kids had church school, Saturday and Sunday.
What kind of games did they play back in those days?
Some games that they played in their free time were croquet, golf, skiing, tennis, skating, went swimming, played tag and hide and go seek. They played red light green light and ate some ice cream!!! They played some card games such as Old Maid and Rummy, played Hangman and read books. Some books that the children read were The Bobbsey Twins, Flossy, and Nancy Drew etc. They played Jacks, Mother May I, Jump Rope, and more. They had talent shows and for people to watch, to get in sometimes the kids had them pay candy and cookies. Some kids had their talent show in the back of a gas station and they would perform. Anyone who would like to see their Talent show would watch from the gas station. There sometimes was a platform at the gas station and the kids could use it as a stage. It would be lots of fun!!
