PARENT PAGE: INFORMATION ABOUT OUR LIBRARY All elementary school media centers in East Greenbush Central Schools have been automated. This means the students and faculty search on a computer for their book selection rather than through a catalog of cards. We are now like the East Greenbush Community Library and the other libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System. Our Genet Library catalog is also available to you from home. THE IMPORTANCE OF READING TO YOUR CHILD "The more you read, the more you know." It's very important to read or listen to your child read at any age. Set a good example and read yourself. Encourage your children to read by making sure they have a public library card. It's free and one of the most valuable items you can give your children. Turn off the video games and television on occasion and share an hour or two of reading aloud. This can be done at any age. We all love to be read to from infant to 99 years. We always welcome readers from the community. If you are interested in spending some time sharing your love of reading with the students please feel free to call and ask us. If you can offer your services during the school day, please call Deborah Lyman, librarian/teacher or Donna Eager, library clerk. The number is 477-2735. Thank you, ahead of time, for sharing your love of reading. Check out this parenting site.
