The Goff Middle School is designed to meet and respond to the unique needs of early adolescents. It is our purpose to structure the setting in which learning can take place in order to promote natural, social, and cultural growth for a student.
Goff Middle School is organized into three "Houses" - Grade 8 in the Blue House, Grade 7 in the Green House, and Grade 6 in the Red House. Within each "House" there are three teams- Team B, Team G, and Team R. The Houses and Teams were implemented with the belief that each student's total educational experience would be best met within this "school within a school" structure. Teams provide "communities for learning" where close, trusting relationships with adults and peers create a climate for personal growth and cognitive development. The potential improvements realized within a team structure are flexible scheduling, team teaching, and interdisciplinary instruction.
The entire staff of the Goff Middle School is dedicated to the task of working toward the achievement of excellence. |
