- Sparks students' interest by showing the endangered animal movie on the overhead screen (5 minutes). Discuss some main points, key vocabulary, etc...
- Have students access the school's webpage and click on the endangered animal webquest.
- Read the introduction, task, and process.
- Students should then click on the link under #2 in the process section to take the quiz/qualifying game.
- After students take the quiz/qualifying game they will need to report to the teacher to receive their animal assignment and fact finder sheet.
- Student will then need to complete the fact finder sheet using the links underneath the process.
- Upon completion of this sheet, students should be instructed in opening the trading card template and saving it under their own name.
- Next students should use the information from their fact finding sheet to complete their trading card. They will also need to go back to the links to download a picture of their animal.
- When their trading cards are complete, the teacher will need to print them and select the colored printer option on his/her computer.
- Once printed, have students cut and glue the front and back of the trading cards together. Then send the cards to be laminated.
- Students who finish early could complete the following: the bonus opportunity under the process, design a game to be played using the trading cards, or create an additional trading card.
