Green Meadow's Mission Statement
Green Meadow supports the District's mission statement, "To promote the maximum growth of every child...". Through the use of an all-inclusive Character Education Program we strive to create an atmosphere where virtues are fostered, character counts, and all persons are welcomed and valued. By developing a Local Education Plan, the staff has developed a blueprint to help work towards promoting the maximum development of inquiring, self-directed, and creative people. Our goal is to teach students how to learn, and to prepare them to continue to learn systematically when they no longer have school to assist them.

OUR MISSION IS TO:

  • Develop within all learners a sense of responsibility for themselves, their community, their nation, and the world in which they live
  • Develop the essential skills of reading, writing, and computation.
  • Develop in students critical thinking skills and an understanding of their own learning processes.
  • Provide a variety of enriching experiences that encourage life-long learning, self-realization, occupational success, and the productive use of leisure time.
  • Create a safe environment that has a strong potential for supporting the development of confident and competent individuals with sound social, emotional, and intellectual foundations.

GOALS: To achieve the vision of our Mission Statement, it is our goal to:

  • Develop positive self-concept in students.
  • Have the students become actively involved in their own learning.
  • Teach students to transfer and apply basic skills, learning method, and thinking strategies.
  • Develop the student's ability to become self-directed and able to think for themselves.
  • Develop student's positive attitudes toward intellectual activities and cultivating a passion for learning.
Develop the student's ability to enjoy different forms of creative expression.
  • Develop the student's skills in problem solving, informal decision making and accepting responsibility for consequences of choices made.
  • Develop the student's understanding in the dynamics of change and benefiting from the process.
  • Improve the student's skills of interpersonal communications and social relationships.
  • Develop the student's understanding and utilization of diversity among individuals and cultures for the benefit of mankind.
  • Develop the student's positive attitude toward their own work, its dignity, and social value.
  • Develop the student's sense of responsibility as community, national, and world citizens.
