Try This At Home: A Tip From Gwen Rudnick, OTR/L
(Staff Occupational Therapist)

June tip of the month:

Summer vacation often means more relaxation and slower pace. However, for many families, it is just as busy as the school year. With the longer daytime hours and possibly fewer scheduled activities, sleep patterns typically change during the summer months. However, be aware that these changes may occur gradually; and patterns may become solidified just in time to gear up for September’s return to school. Try your best to have your child/ren maintain a sleep schedule similar to that of the school year to avoid the sudden sleep shift of September. Quality and quantity of sleep are tremendously important factors in how a person functions during their waking hours. Have plenty of sleep, activity, and FUN during this summer!
