Free and Reduced Meals
Children need healthy meals to learn. The East Greenbush Central School District offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs $1.25 for elementary and middle school students, and $1.75 for high school students. Lunch costs $2.50 for elementary school students, and $2.75 for middle school and high school students.
Children from households that meet Federal income guidelines are eligible for free meals or reduced price meals. Reduced price meals cost each eligible student $0.25 for lunch and $0.25 for breakfast. To apply for free or reduced price meals, submit a Direct Certification letter from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance OR complete the application, sign it, and return it to the school as soon as possible. Please refer to the guidelines contained in this letter when completing the application. We cannot approve an application that is not complete, so be sure to fill out all required information. Prepay online with NutriKids
The East Greenbush Central School District now provides parents and guardians with a convenient and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account at any time.
With the prepay service, lunch lines move along more quickly allowing your child more time to eat and visit with friends. MyNutriKids also gives parents the ability to view your child’s account balance and print a copy of your child’s meals purchases over the past 30 days.
A letter from Food Services Director John Di Giovanni explaining the new system is available here. To access the new system, just click on the MyNutriKids.com logo below.

Charge Policy
The Board of Education recognizes that, on occasion, students may forget to bring meal money to school, and will allow limited charging of school meals. To ensure that students do not go hungry, but also to promote responsible student behavior and minimize fiscal burden to the district, the Board will allow students who may forget meal money to "charge" the cost of meals within certain limitations.
