Fundraiser for Freemantle Family
A devastating house fire on Thursday destroyed the home of Columbia student-athlete Joseph Freemantle. The family was able to escape the fire without harm, but they lost all of their clothes and possessions in the fire.
Columbia athletics and the East Greenbush school community are rallying to help the Freemantle family. Donations of gift cards and money are being collected by Athletic Director Mike Leonard and Coach Craig Cavotta.
In addition, a pot luck dinner will be held at Columbia High School to raise funds to help the family. The pot luck is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, in the Columbia High School Cafeteria from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Individuals are asked to make a $10 donation. All proceeds will go to benefit the Freemantle family.
If you are able to make a meal for the pot luck, please contact the Athletic Office at Columbia High School at 207-2081.
