CHS Science Olympiad among Top Five in State
Competing against teams from across New York State, Columbia’s Science Olympiad concluded its 2013 season with a fourth place overall finish at the state finals competition on March 8-9. This is the fifth year in a row that the CHS team placed in the top five.
The statewide competition, held this year at at Monroe-Woodbury High School, brings together qualifying teams from 11 regional competitions. In all, 376 high school teams participated in the regional Science Olympiad competitions; only 54 qualified for the state finals. At the individual level, Columbia students earned an unprecedented three state championships.
