2011 National Blue Ribbon Schools Celebration - Posted January 25, 2012
High enthusiasm marked the 29th annual U.S. Department of Education recognition ceremony for National Blue Ribbon Schools. More than 700 principals, teachers, and supporters from 315 exemplary public and private schools attended the ceremony, held in Washington, DC on November 14-15, 2011. Red Mill Elementary Celebrates Receipt of the Nation's Highest Education Honor -Posted October 4, 2011
The East Greenbush Central School District along with community members and state dignitaries gathered at Red Mill Elementary School on September 27th to celebrate the school’s receipt of the National Blue Ribbon Award. Red Mill Elementary School Named Among Top Schools In The Nation - Updated September 23, 2011
To celebrate being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Red Mill Elementary School students dressed in blue and the staff dressed in red to form the shape of a ribbon. (Red Mill would like to thank David Cook and Marty Miller for donating their photography services.)
U.S. Department of Education Announces Blue Ribbon Schools - Posted September 27, 2011
The Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award, given annually since 1982 by the U.S. Department of Education, recognizes schools based on overall academic performance. This year, Red Mill is the only Capital District school to receive the honor. There are 126,926 K-12 schools in the United States. Red Mill ranked among the top 305 schools in the nation to receive this award, and the only school from the capital district. The Red Mill Elementary School, and its academic programming, will now be used as a model for other schools throughout the country. Read more...
EGCSD Announces National Blue Ribbon Nomination - Posted December 22, 2010
At the December 8th Board of Education meeting, East Greenbush Central School District’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Angela M. Nagle, announced that U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recognized the District’s Red Mill Elementary School as a nominee for the 2011 Blue Ribbon Award.
